A supermarket vs artisan pizza comparison challenge with East Pizzas

In a survey of 2,000 Brits, 48% say that pizza is one of their favourite meals, and we’re getting through around five pizzas a month on average.

Blimey – that is a lot of pizza.

We just LOVE it in our house too!

The poll also revealed that the sourdough base is where it’s at, with just over half (52%) giving it the thumbs up,  we never have sourdough  based pizza just supermarket ones so when challenged to a taste test we were intrigued!

East Pizzas sent us a supermarket Margherita pizza alongside an East Pizzas Margherita pizza  and asked us to compare consider …

  • Taste
  • Texture
  • Toppings

I gave my son and I half each of both and well – no contest at all.

The East Pizzas pizza tasted like something you would have bought in a restaurant or eaten on a piazza in Italy. It was absolutely delicious. It had my son straight on his phone looking where we could buy another. The base was fresh, the toppings lovely and the texture just perfect.

OMG! the supermarket one felt boring, tough and a little stale in comparison and we are normally perfectly okay with supermarket pizza … not any more!

Just so you know  the East Pizzas ready-to-cook topped pizzas cost from £8.99 in a selection of crowd-pleasing flavours including Margherita, Aubergine & Tomato, Ham, artichoke & Black Olive and Pepperoni.

You must try one!
