Today – Chao Chao Urban Kitchen Review
Chao Chao Urban Kitchen Review
Last week we went for the dine-in experience at Chao Chao Urban kitchen.
Chao Chao has 2 branches in Nottingham one in Arnold and one in West Bridgford and we ate at the West Bridgford branch. The menu consists so South East Asian Street food.
Chao Chao prides themselves on ‘freshly cooked, quality ingredients and innovation’ so we were super excited to try their food. It was reassuring for me that they don’t use any MSG or artificial colours are used in any of recipes, these often leave me feeling so uncomfortable.
So off we went to Chao Chao with high hopes in and rumbly tummies. We were delighted to see the venue was spotlessly clean, urban cool and we loved you could see through to the kitchen. We were greeted by Lav our friendly and helpful host and we were well served throughout the evening by all the friendly staff.
My husband and I are vegetarian and my 12-year-old daughter eats a vegan diet so I was slightly concerned about our needs being met but actually it was fine and there was quite a variety of vegan options and many veggie options on the menu.
What we ate at Chao Chao
First of all, we had a snack of colourful veggie crackers with a dip and these were scrumptious.
Then we tried a range of tapas from the mention we had some gorgeous dishes. So scrummy. We tried a variety of food including:
Spring Rolls
Katsu arancini sticky balls of rice which were just YUM!
Steamed edamame beans – delicious!
Thai green curry with tofu and steamed veg mmmm my first green curry – just lovely!
Tofu and mushroom Yaki soba noodle – beautifully tasty!
Bang bang cauliflower – our absolute favourite – a crispy fried cauliflower with a Chao Chao dipping sauce.
And for pudding, I had a great Americano coffee and a chocolate and hazelnut dome. Oh, this was the absolute best!
To sum up our Chao Chao Urban Kitchen Review
The food was hot, fresh, well-cooked, tasty and interesting and we would not hesitate to go back.
Have told all our pals too!
We would also happily order take out from here. Really delicious food.
