Pear and Pine Nut Salad is delicious and teamed with garlic ( specially if you have grown your own garlic) is lush!
I do like to eat what is seasonal and fresh and you really cannot beat a little foraging in Great Grandma’s garden. GG as my children affectionately call her lived in the countryside all her life and knows a thing or two about plants, herbs and vegetables. She is 96 years old, wise and wonderful.
She also knows a lot about making the very most of what is abundant and free like love and wild garlic.
Late spring is the perfect times to go foraging for this versatile plant, so absolutely right now! Both the leaves and the flowers are edible and they are just so pretty too.
Pear and Pine Nut Salad
Despite living in the suburbs now she still has a batch of this in her front garden and urged me to pick some and try it in a salad – most usually though you will find it in woodland.
We used the garlic flowers in a simple Spring salad
